On Saturday, February 1, select members of the Liberty Middle School Math Team participated in the St. Clair Chapter MATHCOUNTS Competiton at SIUE. 

Recently, the Board met on a Saturday to follow up on progress of the phase 1 projects related to the April 2023 bond referendum and receive an update on the Transportation Study, including potential changes to school start times.

All about the Illinois Report Card

During their December meeting, the Board of Education approved secure entry construction projects for the summer of 2025. 

As the semester and calendar year come to a close, Dr. Shelton shares several important district updates in a special video message.

While walking through the halls of Liberty Middle School, a display of student work caught my attention. Rachel Harris, an eighth grade Social Studies teacher at Liberty Middle School recently granted her students the power to use the magic of AI to transform abolitionists who lived several lifetimes past into futuristic superheroes. I was intrigued.

District #7 has been chosen by First Student to pilot their new FirstView 1.0 app, making us the largest district to test this updated platform ahead of its official launch in the summer of 2025.

While student and staff safety has always been a top priority for District #7, the past two years have found us expanding the number of resources available to schools. 

This year at Lincoln Middle School, we had an overhaul of our emergency plans.

All 13 of District #7’s schools received a COMMENDABLE designation by the State of Illinois.

In their inaugural year, the Liberty Middle School dance team defied expectation, clinching a remarkable third-place finish at the Illinois Drill Team Association (IDTA) State Dance Competition last month.

The District #7 Board of Education met on Monday, Nov. 13, 2023 for its monthly work session. These are not the official meeting minutes, but rather a summary to assist the District #7 community.

The Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) released the annual Illinois Report Card today at www.illinoisreportcard.com. The Report Card shows how schools are progressing on a wide range of educational goals.  

The demolition of the 1941 and 1953 portions of the building was completed, while other prep work for the addition of the building continued. The project continues to be on schedule and under budget, as well.
