Liberty Softball Advances to State Tournament

Congratulations to the Liberty Middle School softball team for Liberty for qualifying for the IESA Class 3A state tournament. The Panthers defeated Triad 3-0 in the Sectional H championship on Saturday to secure their spot.
Liberty, which improves to 16-5-1, will play Manhattan on Friday at 12:30 p.m. in Normal in one of four quarterfinal games. The state semifinals, championship and third place games will all be played on Saturday. All games will take place at Champions Field.
This is Liberty's third state tournament appearance and its first since 2012.
