Liberty Baseball Advances to State Tournament

Congratulations to the Liberty baseball team on winning its sectional championship on Monday night with a 10-1 win over O'Fallon Carriel to earn a spot in the IESA Class 3A State Tournament.
The Panthers will face St. Jacob Triad on Friday at 10 a.m. in one of four quarterfinal round games at the Eastside Centre in East Peoria. The semifinals and third-place and championship games are scheduled for Saturday.
Liberty, with an overall record of 22-2, is making its fourth state tournament appearances and won state titles in 2018 and 2019.
